S'ven, the Candidatemaster, and his Sand Corenth, were flying towards the candidate barracks. They were takign their time, but he would expect the candidates to hurry- they didn't have wings, like Corenth did!
He'd set up a practice saddle in the courtyard called the 'weyrling bowl' which was halfway down the mountain.
They would learn the basic contitions of dragonflight today. next time he would give his helpers the go-ahead to make the practice more difficult. Not everythign was smooth flyign all the time!
Corenth touched down on one of the ledges that opened into the halls and snorted.
I think you shouldn't dawdle S'ven. Wake them up and then let's get back to the practice courtyard. I haven't had a chance to have breakfast yet, you know- and neither have you. He scolded his Rider. S'ven and Corenth had woken up early and gone out to set everything up. Both of their stomachs were rumblign audibly, and S'ven was more tolerant of waiting for food than Corenth.
you could go eat and I'll walk with them He suggested.
Corenth snorted and S'ven laughed.
yeah, I know, not very becoming of the Candidatemaster- and It would take too long. He said, smiling. S'ven patted Corenth's shoulder and walked down the hall towards the series of doors.
e knocked on them all, calling to the sleeping young men and women within to wake up.
"Wake up sleepyheads! Lessons are beginning!"
normally they had 'Lesson 1' after breakfast, but today was an unusual tuseday morning. They would have to grab something on the go.
He knocked on all of the doors, shouting his wakeup call. He added, slightly louder,
"Meet us at the 'weyrling bowl' around back!"
