10th Pass Pern>>>
With AIVAS's help, the Red Star was moved. Thread would fall for the next 50 turns, it was said, but it abruptly stopped at turn 25. Believed by many that this was the end of Thread, The Weyrs began to break down somewhat. During the Ninth Pass, a starhall had been situated on the Western Isles. In order to protect the Star smiths, and for Dragonriders and Dragons of the Weyrs to learn about being star patrol officers, a small outpost was also created on the isles. It held only a wing of dragons, but they were adventurous spirits and were moving forwards with the rapidly changing times. But many Dragonriders were loathe to part with their tithes, feelign that they had earned an easier life after all their hard work. Some of the Weyrs broke up, leaving Benden, Southern, Monnacco and Fort Weyrs the only true Weyrs left. Most Dragonriders stationed themselves at holds on star patrols, or as guards, or in other jobs. Others moved to Dragonholds, or Weyrholds, often in the southern or eastern continent. Still, there were more dragons and their riders than spaces for them to live 'normal' lives: and some found it hard to grow their own food and find their own shelters. Over the course of five turns, the people of Penr fell into a false sense of security- and both celebration and confusion. But at the end of this five-turn, strange interval, Thread started again, just as suddenly as it had ended!
Chaos ensued for the next turn or so, but eventually the Weyrholds' inhabitants came back ot the Weyr to battle Thread once more, albeit somewhat reluctantly. Moon Stone Outpost on the Western Isles was nearly abandoned at the call to their long-held duty. And then, bewilderingly, Thread was gone. Forever, at the 35th turn od the 10th Pass, there was no more Thread. Unsure Dragonriders from the Moon Sonte outpost went back to their island home, and kept an eye on the skies. And now, tensions rose as confusion made tempers higher than normal. Holders were as confused as the riders, and crafters as well. They had their own questions. But a small solution smoothed out the conflicts: when a meteor almost as big as the fireball headed straight for Pern, the dragonriders proved their worth once more as they rose to combat the falling menace, with telekinesis and dragonflame. Other dragons evacuated nearby areas in case. And it was thought, when the fireball had been forced away from Pern and back into space, that perhaps it would be best to crete a smaller Weyr on the Western Isles, to keep a look out for such dangers, and react much quicker. And so Moonlit Weyr was born from the Moon Stoen outpost there. This small Weyr inhabits a pair of twin extinct volcanos, and the second cone is now used as a dragonhold, for retired dragonriders. Moonlit gains a small tithe from its nearby hold and the starhall, for protecting it from meteors.
But Moonlit is much more than just a small Weyr whose purpose is rarely put to the test. The eldest queen, a young gold, Rose for her mating Flight, and her prefered bronze caught the golden beauty, something happened with the eggs. The volcanic ash long-undisturbed caused mutations in the color genes of the unborn dragonets! When the unsuspecting Candidates and Dragonriders gathered in the hatching cavern, they were astonished to see the new colors of dragon that emerged form their shells. These colors were, however, not all that strange. They seemed similar enough to their siblings, and in temperament too they were perfect Dragons of Pern. The difference, not understood at first, was that the new colors have unique or improved talents of telekinesis.
But most of the Dragons' telekinetic talents are as of yet undiscovered. Everyone can see they are unique, but even the dragons themselves do not understand things yet.

CURRENT PLOTS
IC time: Turn 2 of no Thread, month 8.
It's late into summer now even in the mountains, and Valureth's eggs are ready to meet the Candidates, though their hatching is not just yet: the egg-brush. A Weyr-wide scavenger hunt (with clues left in both IC and OOC) should lighten the overall mood of the Weyr, create some unity and help the dragonriders trust one another. A secret library discovered by two candidates, a depresed weyrling master, uneasy weyrfolk and holders, and a strange darkness hiding in the corners seems to be leading to something, but what is it? There are whispers, and unease: whatever the reason Raiin was killed at the Snows festival, at the Hold, that reason has not yet passed; the person has not yet been aprehended, and the suspects are few and far between. The Weyrwoman and Weyrleader are worried that its not over yet. With no more Thread to fight, what are Dragonriders to do? We're about to find out....
