Aireth's flight (finally)

Did you really think I would miss this, Sunset Beauty? I'm never late, you should know better.

Aireth snorted, and sat back to watch the show that she would soon see from all of the doting males... This would be a deciding factor of the flight, she was nowhere near tired, but she hadn’t done near as much as all the males so far. It was the price for her... And at the moment she was nowhere near coming to a decision, no one had done anything to really make her think ‘Wow!’ So they would have to wait, no matter how tired they were, although they shouldn’t be that tired yet.

She turned her attention back to Rarenth, he turned as he flew and wrapping his arms around the clouds, scooping them up, before diving, and diving upside down at that., trapping the clouds as they condensed into moisture. The Sunset looked up as Rarenth pulled up above her, and she was showered by the droplets of water that had been trapped in his wings. She looked at herself, rainbows sparkled across her hide. She had to admit that she looked totally awesome, no matter how much she thought that the whole rainbow idea was a bit sappy.

Now you sparkle as well as shine.

Bilith told her curling up in midair, wings at angles that must have been hard to maintain and in that position he twice, which moved him forwards at superspeed, and then he unfurled and he moved like a slingshot, coming to a halt right above her.

THIS is a show

He spread his wings and Aireth got a view of his light underside... It was cool, and no sappy rainbows or anything, however she could easily do that, but it was reaaaaaaaally cool. So far, the Teal and Brown were pretty much at the same level in her books.

Hellow M'lady, you really want something to impress you? I suggest, fair dear, that to watch me would be entirely in your favor!

Aireth really hoped that they would all stop asking her rhetorical questions, she has always thought they were stupid, why ask a question if you didn’t want it to be answered. However, she knew that she used them all the time in her everyday speech, but that didn’t she still couldn’t tell other people off for doing it...

But now, Aireth didn’t get enough time to reprimand any of them as she was stunned by Nrieth’s next move, he started a slow climb into the air, before stopping and diving, it looked like a pretty normal trick until he didn’t pull up his dive when he got to the lake as Aireth thought he would, he dove straight into the water. Aireth didn’t know what was happening under the water but she saw him as he came back up, shaking his wings and throwing tiny water droplets all around the place. She didn’t feel one drop get on her, however, she did see as the water droplets turned into little rainbows...

Ok, jeez enough with the rainbows! She didn’t convey that to the males however she did say that to Transiit...

Now, this isn't a show, it is art!

She used her powerful wings to shoot her toward the clouds, before leveling out amidst the clouds. So that no-one below is able to see her, she swung her tail back and forth, somehow hooking the clouds in the curve. Aireth pulled them along behind as she flew, before going above the cloud cover and flinging them round her, the clouds framed her, sticking to her body. Lining her, before with one beat of her wings she pushed them away. Anyone watching would be astonished, because when she pushed the clouds away from her, it would have looked as if the clouds were blowing up. They scattered, flying out all around her, leaving her sparkling red physique in it's place. And this whole time, she had not seen a single rainbow.

Transiit at the present time was clinging to the wall in her flightlust, feeling the need to grab onto someone in the room, but not wanting to embarrass herself. Although she was sure that any of them would be more than happy to grab back onto her... But she would suppress that feeling for now...

Rarenth watched the other males with distain, the Teal wasn't in his good books, nor was he doing anything spectacular. The twisty-divey-thing was somewhat impressive, but it would have taken too much effort to be considered worth-while. He still had to have enough strength to carry Aireth, not that he stands a chance against me. Then of course he showed his 'pretty' underbelly. So he's colourful, big deal (said with heavy sarcasm).

The blue was just trying too hard for a cheap imitation of his trick, but he was highlighting himself, rather than flattering Aireth. Not the best thing to do, you make yourself look good yes, but if you have a chance to make the female happy, you go for it. Amature.

The other blue was nowhere in sight, he must have flown away in shame at the thought of even trying to best me.

Overall, Rarenth was feeling very confident about his chances, not that he ever doubted himself. Even so, Aireth was a hard one to please, and she knew what she liked. He figured she would probably choose soon, send the loosers home. Even if she wanted them to work, she wouldn't tire anyone out too much, this was the one she would choose as her mate after all.

But it seems she had one last trick before she sent the males packing. It was a spectacular trick too, one that highlighted her powerful, yet slim physique. And a dragonesses power over males, in this case in the form of clouds. At least, that was the way Rarenth could depict it, he had quite a poetical mind, even if he'd never admit it.

Was that a subliminal message, my dear? Depicting your power and magesty over us males as the power of your wings to blow away the clouds. Saying that you could dismiss us whenever you wanted if you didn't think we were worth your beauty.

I must say sweet sunset, you are as smart as you are beautiful.

Rarenth spiraled up to her side, hovering very close.

Ind'i had long since curled herself into a tight ball. Whenever a wave of her dragon's lust hit her, her entire body trembled. It had given her abs a workout, with those stomach mucles clenched to stop herself from unwinding and launching herself at the nearest thing with a pulse.

She was sure that the others would be going through the same thing but she daren't open her eyes to look. For she and Transiit it was a first, she heard that the older riders may have been able to stand up, how they bore the urge was beyond her. She hoped this would only happen once in a blue moon, otherwise she might just have to castrate Rarenth.

(OOC: I know you can't castrate a dragon, but it was a line I had to put in. =D)

Greeth looekd around, baffled. He had been so close only moments ago! Yet, Aireth had dived down, he assumed, through those clouds...
All the other males had followed, and with a growl, he spiraled down to their level.

Shining Aireth, I was distracted by your great beauty. But now it is my turn. He said, andstarted from belw the others. He arced his wings waay out and began turning rapidly. He caught water in his wings and spun around , flippe,d and turned over and over. Not once did the water move out of his wings until, at last, he began spiraling up towards Aireth and just below her, opened his wings, letting the light travel through the droplets to shine upon her hide as they spun out of the trap of his wings.

You are beautiful. He said simply, with none of the poetry of Nrieth or Rarenth.


As he beat his wings to gain a little height, he looked at Rarenth and growled softly.


Bilith snorted and rumbled appreciatively as Aireth acted. He was very impressed by the Sunset. Maybe he would do something more daring if she asked it of them again...

Nrieth would have raised an eyebrow if he could at Rarenth. The Brown was a little full of himself, and obviously thought his chances of catchign Aireth were already clearly 100% good.

He knew that Rarenth was wrong! Nrieth swung his head to watch Greeth with amusement.
But he did not comment, instead pondering silently whether Aireth would actually Fly instead of testing their skills in tricks and 'art'

Still, he would not anger thhe Sunset by speaking this query out loud.

Aireth of shining hide and glorious colors, I think your beauty needs no tricks or shows of talent. It would be an honest thing to say that you need not perform as your suitors do. We are here to impress you and no other. He said, dipping his head courteously.


Y'san smiled at his dragon's wordplays, and noticed Transiit's actions. To help her, he moved slightly away, giving her more space to decide whether she wanted to lean on any of the Riders there instea of the wall.
He felt the MatingLust, embraced it, hugged it and became Nrieth completely once more. He felt Nrieth try to impress Aireth without showy things. The Blue was small, it was true, and he needed to save anergy f she was going to have a real Chase.

It wasn’t exactly what she was thinking of, she wasn’t as deep as that, but it was close. She assumed that they knew she could dismiss them whenever she wanted, I mean, it was her the Sunset Beauty. So she was surprised he only know understood that, but meh. But she was doing it to depict her power over them. They were all totally intoxicated by her. Although she was a little disconcerted that he thought he could fly that close. He hadn’t won yet. She growled a little at him, to warn him that his proximity was not called for... yet....

Aireth looked appreciatively at Greeth’s display, there were no rainbows, although again they had used water, but it was a very effective trick, much like all the others... This was going to be a hard decision. He used none of the poetic and twisting words of Rarenth and Nrieth, he kept it short and sweet.

Aireth harrumphed at that, although subtly appreciating the words.

Now boys, I’m think we should go for a little race... She narrowed her eyes at the contesting males. This will be your last chance. Prove you are worthy of me

And she took off, not leaving the males any time to get ready. She said it would be a race, but she never said it would be fair.

Transiit was still part of Aireth, every now and then, coming back to the real world, catching glimpses of the other riders. Ind’i was curled into a ball, avoiding all the others rider. Y’san had moved away from her, sensing her actions and giving her room. She appreciated the idea, but she needed something, someone to hold onto. The other two males were too far away, she stepping forward, fisting her hands in Y’san tunic.

She felt his warmth and his racing heartbeat through the thin fabric. Transiit held tighter, she knew the flight was going to end, one final race and Aireth will be finished and she would choose, so until then, Transiit couldn’t do anything to drastic, this proximity to another being would do... At least, for now...

Y'san was startled when Transiit suddenly lurched towards him and grabbed onto his shirt. He tried to control himself fom taking hold of her as well, barely succeeding. He shivered and then took a deep breath. He knew he would have to stay somewhat in himself if he wasn't going to act before he knew the outcome. That would Not be a good idea, especially with Transiit.

Nrieth rumbled as Aireth flew off, shooting away before the others had time to think. He nodded his head and rowed his wings through the air, directing himself after her. Sparing breath for words, he shortly said,
My My, now lovely Aireth, that's not entirely fair to us males, now is it? he sounded amused, and in fact he was.
Nrieth was dimly aware of the interplay amoung the Riders, hisY'san's emotions felt like they were burning!
He pumped his wings hard and tore after the Sunset.

Greeth growled at Bilith and flapped his wings to gain height. He beat them and flew tiredly after Aireth. He knew he was tiring, as was Nrieth, but thought he would be able to keep flying until the end.
N'naron groaned and stared angrily at Y'san. It was surely just chance, just a matter of who she was closest to at the time, which caused Transiit to grab onto Y'san, not himself! It must! He merged completely with his draogn, with Greeth, because otherwise, he might launch himself at the other Bluerider!

J'cob just grunted and closed his eyes, thankful that Transiit hadn't grabbed onto Him! He knew Bilith wanted to catch Aireth, and half hoped he would, but at the same time, personally, he'd rather anyone But Transiit!

Bilith rumbled appreciatively and twisted his tail and wings, powering his way forwards with his larger wings and more powerful body. Really, only Rarenth was competition- Greeth was tired and surprisingly, Nrieth did not appear as tired. But the Teal did not waste much time looking at his copetition. He was powering after Aireth, and though he began a little behind the others, he was already ahead of Greeth.

Ind'i saw the movement out of the corner of her eye, Transiit had moved. Even through the haze of pain and pleasure, her curiosity spiked. From her current foetal position, she couldn't actually see where her dark haired friend had moved to, so she had to move.

Uncurling herself slowely, she pulled her legs up underneath her, and hugged her hands to the side. It wasn't as easy as before, but it was better in some ways, now Ind'i could see. And that wasn't a good thing for Sunset Rider. With a wicked grin, her mouth formed the shape she'd need to make it one of the most awkward moments of Transiit's life.

She wolf-whistled.

It made Ind'i feel much better. And for the first time in the flight, the brown rider let herself became one with her dragon. She felt the wind in his powerful, yet tired, muscles, she felt the lust and she felt the ancient, ancestoral instinct, that was driving all of the dragons movements. And she embraced it. This was what being a dragon rider was about.

And it was good that she was experiencing it now, because Transiit might kill her in a few moments.

The other males were pathetic, concluded Rarenth. The one who he'd dismissed from the flight was suddenly trying again. His trick was weak, and he actually had the audacity to growl at him? Rarenth, the most magnificent dragon to soar through the skies of Pern.
He was either stupid or pathetic. And there came Rarenth's conclusion. And then the Teal, who had been a torn in his side since the start of the flight (Rarenth language for he was his competition), was trying another hand at poetry. But again, pathetic.

So Rarenth just waited, he was expecting that, the one last move that would separate the boys from the men (so to speek). And when Aireth announced her final stand, he was ready. Shooting off, with one stroke of his wings, the brown spared no energy. He was going to win this flight. He was.

Aireth was tired, too tired. She needed to stop, looking behind her, she examined her assailants. Bilith and Rarenth were already in the lead, although Nrieth and Greeth had responded extremely quickly to the start of her race. There was no doubt that the Teal and the Brown were the strongest of the males physically but she was unsure about them any other way. Nrieth and Greeth had both tried very hard. And although they were blues, they would not give up, Aireth was a hard taskmaster, but these guys lived up to the standards. It would be a hard decision.

Rarenth. He was going to be a hard one to handle, and Aireth wasn’t sure whether his ego would contest hers. And she had a very big ego. He was so up himself, although he did have every right to be. However, she was still worried that his confidence/up-himself-ness and his giant ego would overwhelm hers. And she needed to keep her reputation in check.

Bilith. He would be a good suitor, however at the start of the flight, Aireth wasn’t totally sure his heart was in it. But by the end, the teal was totally ready for everything she threw at him. Maybe his original, depressness (?) had something to do with his rider. And Aireth wasn’t sure whether he would be happy with Transiit. Should she check up on her? Not yet...

Greeth. Hmmm, interesting. Very determined, although not as strong as she would like. He would probably stick to her like glue. He didn’t usually waste time on poetry. But sometimes he used it. Maybe not enough? But again the rider... She wouldn’t know... Check up on Transiit? Ummm...

Nrieth. Another interesting. She liked how he was always amused with what she did. And always appreciative. Including his last comment, he would be a fun one to have around. He seemed to know that he wasn’t as strong as the others, but wasn’t put down by it. And, like Greeth, very determined. But again, she had no idea who his rider was.

She only knew Rarenth’s rider. Transiit’s best friend, and a female. But she shouldn’t have to worry about Transiit. Should she? Aireth’s conscience got the better of her, and she checked up on Transiit, she didn’t seem to be having that hard a time, although she did notice the sudden flare of anger. But she didn’t know why.

Aireth took one glance back before she made her decision

Transiit felt Y’san shiver, glad he hadn’t given in or she would surely have lost herself. But she wasn’t impressed at Ind’i’s next move. Of all things she could have done, Ind’i wolf-whistled. Even in her lust-dulled state. Transiit still had the sense to be angry. A plan came to her immediately.

If anyone came close to one another, at this moment, when the decision was just about to be made. They surely wouldn’t be able to resist. So, if she picked Ind’i up, and threw her right at N’naron, or J’cob, or Y’san. She would surely not be able to resist. Transiit took a step towards Ind’i but a shiver ran threw her, stopped her in her tracks. Aireth had chosen.

“Now!? You had to choose now?!”

Aireth halted her flight, letting the males catch up with her, before twirling towards her decision.

Nrieth. I choose you. She twined tails with him. But before they fell she whispered. Don’t let me fall, if you aren’t ready to catch me...

Although I would like to commend the efforts of Greeth, Bilith and Rarenth. They all did awesome.

Ind'i runs, fast. Because she has NO idea about what else to do. And, instead of finding someone to... satisfy... her left-over flight-lust. She'll go and swim in the lake. (Eg. Try and drown herself)

Rarenth, in his anger/depression. Flies very far away. And won't come back until tomorrow.

J'cob breathed a sigh that was mixed with relief and annoyance- thankfulness that he didn't have to be with the evil Transiit any longer, yet grief that Bilith had failed once more.

Don't worry Bilith. Your time will come. He said soothingly to his Teal. He knew Bilith wa flyign back now, slowly and in despair, but His' words and feelings soothed him. He sighed as well, J'cob knew he did, and J'cob didn't turn back as he walked out of her Weyr, on his way back to his own.. or perhaps to meet a friend of his...

N'naron gasped as he was suddenly himself again, and growled like his Greeth, he felt angry- How could that other Blue and his suck-up Rider Win Aireth when He, and Greeth, could not?! It infuriated him. And then he paused. N'naron and Greeth thought of something at the same time, in sync with one another.
There was a lovely little Green and her Rider, a woman older by a little bit than himself, that he might have to pay a visit to... Greeth wouldn't mind the company of a near-proddy Green, now would he?

They wandered off, N'naron drunkenly oddly enough, though that was just from sitting so long against the wall without moving, not anything else. The Flight itself was enough to drive anyone to acting oddly.

Y'san gasped in surprise as he felt that moment. Transiit had stepped away, towards Iind'i, the cause of the wolfwhistle, and thne suddenly, Aireth chose.
And even Y'san was surprised by who she chose. Not the handsome Brown Rarenth nor the grumpy Teal Bilith- no, it was master of the words, poet of the skies, Blue Nrieth, who everyone said was never to amount to anything or catch even the lowliest Green, had caught the most stunningly glorious Aireth-- and Y'san foun himself moving towards Transiit subconsiously, a grin on his dark face. She was his and he was hers, now.


Nrieth felt it a little faster than his Rider, who got it second hand, and the feelings made him crow with delight and amzement. The tone turned triumphant and appreciative, not wantign to change his attitude in the least. He had one her because he was poetic and cunning, determined and sure of himself without being a hotshot- he could not- would not- change this. She might change her mind!

He crooned andhis eyes whirled violet in Lust. He swooped and caught her, their tails twined, and though he was tired and weary and weaker than she, he turned the two of them horizontally, so that their Mating would be longer. His rider recognized the move from something, but Nrieth did not care.

Y'san wrapped his arms around Transiit and kissed her pationately. He knew she would take the initiative. He must let her finalize her decision. She could not change her mind around and hate him suddenly, he would not let that happen.
