Personality: Energetic, dependable, considerate, impatient, hard-worker, fierce temper, and loyal. Jainy is a hard worker and loyal to her family and to Moonlit, and deeply devoted to her superior weyrwomen. She adores children and hopes to have a few someday. She hopes to find a mate that she could love, trust, talk to, if one exists, one that is not simply interested in just another romp in the furs. She is a very hard worker with a soft voice and an easy smile. She is very serious about her duty as a Dragonrider, and takes Drills seriously. She hides her true feelings from others because she doesn't want anyone to know her mind. She feels that her mind is the only safe place she can retreat to and think things over clearly.
She has a bad temper when she loses it, but there is a long fuse that leads up to the loss of her self control. Jainy does have a temper, but she’s so good-natured that it takes a long while before she does get angry. She values friendship and doesn't like anyone trying to manipulate her for their own reasons. She is tough when it comes to hand to hand combat, and she doesn‘t hold back, usually, when sparring. She has sharp wits and an even sharper mind when dealing with bullies. She has a habit of doing more than her share of chores. She doesn't mind the work and actually uses it as an excuse to be alone. She likes to work alone, unless when the situation calls for more than one body. She isn't afraid to speak her mind and will often listen to a conversation for a bit before saying anything. She is considerate of others, unless they really anger her. When she is in a bad mood she glares at people, whether they are the person she is mad at or not. She doesn't lash out at people when she loses her temper, though she does curse a bit when she does. She hates bullies and people that are arrogant.
She is impatient when people tend to take a while doing one simple task, especially when it prevents her from doing whatever task she is assigned to. She will tap her left foot if she is kept waiting. It is a habit she can’t break. Jainy is a dependable woman. If you ask her to do something, she’ll hardly say no. Even if she doesn’t like the chore or what ever it is that she’s being asked to do. She will never turn down a plea for help. She loves a good joke, even though she can’t telling any herself. Jainy is a calm young woman in the face of disaster. She never lets anything rattle her, except for when she is alone with her Jewelith. She has an aloof manner when she just wakes up and hasn‘t had her cup of fresh klah in the morning. She is friendly and inviting once she’s taken her first sip of the warm and invigorating liquid.
She loves her life mate and their bond is very close. She is afraid of one day losing her beloved Jewelith. She was a bit nervous since Impressing a turn ago, but is happily taking on her new role in the Weyr. She has an abundance of energy she uses when she’s attending Wing drills, or just when she‘s talking. She has a habit of speaking a little faster than normal when she’s really excited about something. Jainy has another side to her that comes out only rarely. She is a complete romantic. She doesn’t let it show because she perceives that to be weakness and she has a fear of that. She keeps it under a tight control, though it does manage to show itself when her life mate rises.
Playby N/A
Appearance: Dark, long black hair flows down her back to just above her hips. She generally keeps her long hair it up off her neck in a runner's tail or a braid. She is slender and well proportionate, only marginally gaining or losing weight. She has light brown eyes, and almonde shaped. Her brows are thin, as she prefers to keep them trimmed and shaped perfectly. Her lips are thin and wide, and her facial features are that of the Hawaiian natives. Her skin is darkly bronzed, from spending hours in the sun at her parents cothold. She stands at 5 feet and 7 inches, weighing 142 pounds. Her hair reaches to just below her waist. Though she will also put it in a braid. She has filled out somewhat. Her hips are curved just to be temptation, and her chest area is ample. She wears dark colors that add to her olive complexion really well. She has a nice simple chin that moves up to high cheekbones. She has thin wide lips and thin eyebrows. She has a small birthmark on her lower back to the left side. She is mostly seen in a tunic and pants. Jainy doesn't usually dress up unless it is for a Gather or some other occasion. She has a nice red dress that she keeps at the bottom of her clothes press and wears that dress for those occasions
History: Jainy's mother is an Igen cousin of the Nerat bloodline. As such, she was accustomed to a certain luxury of life. Jollen was a member of the Hold guard of Stavrin Hold, a particularly handsome young man and Enia fell in love with him and they were hand fasted a few months later. Despite the fact that Jollen could not provide the elegance that Enia was accustomed to, they were happy. Their first child was a girl named Jaina, followed three years later by Jainy. The couple was supremely happy as Jollen received a promotion in the guard, taking command of ten men and Enia found she was pregnant with her third child. They celebrated with a picnic beside a tranquil stream and Jaina played by the water while 14 month old Jainy toddled about her parents. While Jollen was feeding Jainy, Enia was keeping a sharp eye on Jaina. She turned her attention to her husband and Jainy just for a moment, but it was enough and Jaina fell in the stream and drowned.
Enia was distraught at the death of her eldest child and refused to eat for a sevenday. It took the aggressive attention of a healer to preserve her life and that of her unborn child. Jollen took on the care of Jainy and had taken her with him on patrols in a backpack. When Enia was recovered, she took back the care of the little girl, cosseting her and keeping her so close that no harm would ever come to her. As young as she was when Jaina died, Jainy had no memory of her sister and since the girl was never mentioned, she believed herself to be the eldest of five. As Jainy grew, she became the depended helper of her mother in tending the younger children. As a child, she never understood her mother's paranoid restrictions and often chaffed under the tight hold. Her only respite was in the Harpering classes that all youngsters attended.
When Jainy was twelve turns old, a third girl was born to Enia, the spitting image of Jaina. The girl was given the name of Larren and Enia felt her to be a second chance and focused all her attention on her. Jainy felt acute relief as her mother's constant eyes were turned elsewhere. Jollen felt relief as well and began taking his five eldest children with him to the main hold where they could play with other children. When not on patrols, Jollen would let Jainy and Ellan, the eldest boy, accompany him as he moved about the hold on his various duties.
Jainy's favorite part of the hold was the Tailor's and when she could, she spent time there, watching the beautiful colors of cloth worked into dresses, tunics and other garments. She spent so much time there that she became something of an unofficial apprentice, holding pins and fetching extra thread and needles. She liked to study the designs for the dresses and fantasize about wearing such garments one day. When she was 13, death struck the family again. This time it was her father who died. Jollen was wounded in a skirmish with some renegades that had been reported as harassing and attacking wagons in the area. He was brought back to the hold and treated by healers, but the wound became infected and despite all efforts, died a sevenday later.
Enia was still completely wrapped up in Larren and almost unaware of the rest of the family. News of Jollen's death brought little reaction other than a faint lassitude when she was not tending to Larren's every desire. Jainy was almost exclusively the caretaker of the household, making dinner for her younger brothers and herself while Enia tended only to Larren and herself. Over the next few turns, Jainy tended to her brothers and herself. She arranged for Ellan to join the guard, as he had always wanted to do, and she got Lensor apprenticed to the hold smith. She herself did washing and mending for neighbors to keep the family solvent. Her whole existence was so centered on her family’s survival that she never once thought about marriage. Before her father’s death, he had been talking to her about the local young men and marriage. Two had even approached him and had asked for her hand.
She was Searched by Moonlit riders shortly after her 20th birthing day. She was shocked. She was of the mind that there would never be Thread again. Which seemed to be the consensus among the other Holders. She was reluctant to leave, but she finally agreed. Her mother was consulted, but Enia's only concern was Larren. Her brother wanted her to go and told her he’d take care of the family from now on. She was scared to be a Candidate. Once she’d arrived at the Weyr, since she was the newly arrived Candidate, a few others told her stories of previous Hatchings, maulings, deaths, and Candidates getting trampled by newly hatched dragonets. Jainy’s fear sky rocketed.
Jainy stood for the hatching of Lilac Nimth and Bronze Kurth. She was conflicted, half excited at the idea of impressing and half guilty for abandoning her mother and brothers. And Fear played a bigger part of her emotions. The hatching took nearly a full hour and 3/4 of the way through it still seemed that she would not impress. Finally, the golden egg broke shell and the little lilac queen stared imperiously at the female candidates around her. At first Jewelith started towards one girl but stopped halfway to her and cocked her head. Doing almost a full 180, she turned and headed straight to Jainy. The moment Jewelith announced that she was Jainy's and Jainy was hers, Jainy felt completely free for the first time in her life.
After the initial euphoria, Jainy remembered her family and made an effort to keep updated on their well-being as much as she could, even as she and Jewelith tackled the daunting training for a weyrling queen. Jainy, who'd skimped on her Harper classes to look after her younger siblings, found the lessons to prepare her to possibly be a Weyrwoman one day difficult as her reading and writing skills were rusty. The classes with Jewelith were much more enjoyable and they passed without mishap, even when they flew with a flame thrower the first time. And she nearly cinged her hair! And since learning what she can during training, she hopes to not repeat such a foolish accident again.

IF A DRAGONRIDER/WEYRLING:
Honorific: N/A
Rank: Queenrider
DRAGON::
Dragon Name: Jewelith
Dragon Gender: Female
Dragon Color(and appearance): Jewelith easily measures in at exactly 29 feet in length and standing 27 feet at the shoulders, with a large wingspan of 45 feet. She has a funnel-like physique, going from her chest to her rump. Despite that, she is well muscled and has very coordinated movements. Her head is narrow and large, but holds the delicateness of a female dragoness. Her coloring is typical for a lilac, but very light in color. Though her hide does hold a few dark patches of darker lilac on her muzzle, tail tip, legs, and wing membranes. Her tail is not as thick as is usual for a lilac, but it does hold a good amount of thickness to help her in flight and not be a hindrance. Her legs are not as thick compared to a larger dragon's, but are typical of the size for a small or medium lilac.
All in all, she is a very beautiful, well proportioned dragoness. Her hide has a glossiness to it, though not making her appear metallic. Just a slight glossiness. Another noticeable feature for Jewelith is her wings: Her wings are large for her small size. Though they are large, they do not hinder her in flight. Rather, they are large and narrow, making her fast for a lilac. As well as her hide having dark points on her hide, there is a large spot on her hide that is very light. Her stomach is lighter than the rest of her, but only in minute shades, and hardly noticeable unless standing close to her. She has four rings of darker pink and blue on her tail.
Dragon Age: 1 Turn
Dragon Fertility: Yes
Personality:: Jewelith is not as boisterous or loud as one might think a Lilac Dragon might be as a baby. But Jewelith is calm. To someone that doesn't know her, nothing seems to phase her one bit. She takes everything, including change, in stride and strives to get her Rider, Jainy, to do as she does and just accept that things are the way they are for a reason. Nothing rattles her nerves, unless you harm her rider. Then you’ll see a fierce and protective lilac dragon. She’ll be more of the motherly sort, though, when she eventually has a clutch on the sands. She will be protective of her clutch but she will thoroughly enjoy it when the Candidates come onto the sands to view the eggs. She's quite motherly towards other dragons too, including her clutchmates, trying to help straighten up their attitude. 'Pardon me, but what did you just say? Well that's entirely inappropriate for a lovely little blue such as yourself!', ' Is that…? Oh no dear, you must get cleaned up at once, you're quite a mess with that mud.' for example.
She'll be full of compliments and flattery, trying to show others just how wonderful they are, and that rowdy and silly behavior is just unnecessary. Jewelith is bossy, but rather politely so, even without the courtesy of please and thank you. If a green is out of formation, her message is a gentle, 'you need to be a wingspan left,' which allows no opposition but also offers no insult. She knows she’s a lilac and deserves respect, but she’s not one to command respect she knows she must earn. And she constantly tells her life mate the same thing. She will on occasion tease her rider about this or that. She just loves to get her rider riled about one subject or another just to do it, because she knows she can. She is a hard working dragon and does her best to do what is asked by her rider. A bit of a goof off at times, and she loves to spook hers when she’s in the mood. She will offer her opinions, but only to her rider. She is obedient to dragons that are older than her. They are older and more experienced, after all.
Jewelith is vigilant when it comes to her duty 'as a Dragon in Threadfall and Wing Drills. And she expects her rider to be the same. She used to snap at her rider if hers didn't show the same attention to when and where Thread falls. She takes it seriously when they are to fly. Though sometimes, she used to prefer to be bound to the Weyr, where she could offer help in directing firestone sacks to the Rider that needed one during a Fall. In every aspect of her duty as a lilac, she is very meticulous in gathering needed information. Though, sometimes, she does get a little bit, some of it, or almost all of the information wrong sometimes. No matter what happens during a fall, whether she's up flying herself or on the ground, if hers or another dragon gets injured, she doesn't panic. She is in control and doesn't let her emotions get the better of her while she's doing her duty. And this holds true even during Wing Drills.
