(Val's Flight) Ripples on the Water

Raiin and Valureth were sitting in their room, staring at each other... but both of them were a long way away...
Yet their thoughts were mainly about the same thing.

Raiin was thinking about how close Val was to flying... she was so bright! Her hide glittered whenever the sun fell on it now. There was no mistaking she could fly any day soon. Valureth was thinking that too... but not so much any day....

Mine? I have somewhere to be, you will have to stay here though....

Where ar.... Oh! Now? You’re flying? Erm... ...um.....congrats... go... have fun!

I will... I shall see you soon... after my choice is made... I will choose well, for the both of us...

Before Raiin could reply and tell her dragon not to worry about it, Valureth was off. She launched of her ledge with such force that she hadn’t before felt the need to sport. Her instincts were showing her the way now... she would do everything the way she was supposed to... and it was her way!

She flew to the feeding grounds. Raiin was quick witted enough to have taken hold of Val once again. Val, my beauty, you mustn’t gorge yourself!

I wouldn’t dream of it!

Fly well.

After Valureth fed she swooped to the lake, and called to the dragons....

Males! I fly NOW! Come, test the water... I raise from the depths to show you my brilliance!

Val dived deep into the lake, only to burst out once again, showering water everywhere. The droplets left behind glittered on her shimmering hide. She roared, challenging those who came to try and claim her.

The water isn’t always so clear, it sometimes can be VERY dangerous!

Raiin stood by the ledge, watching Valureth in amazement...

Here we go...

She stood taller, using the emotions coming from her dragon to flood her with confidence. She would prove herself strong and beautiful, as her dragon was proving herself to be....




(Hehe... this is so fun! It's like playing Val's alter-ego!)

j'emmay and ugrayth:

J'em looked out over the lake, and Ugrayth sat beside her. the small sand dipped his head in the water and came up with a mouthfull of miniscule fish.
"oh, c'mon Ugy! Fish aren't fit food for a dragon!" She scolded the sand, laughing at the same time as he swallowed them.
<<I shall need energy from the fish of the sea to help me capture theSapphire VAlureth. She flies!>> Ugrayth told her, taking off with a toothy grin on his face.

M'kal and rinath (that dusk dragon! ^_^):

M'kal hadn't hung around hanrak much often since the flight- not because he didnt want to be friends, but because he needed to sort out his thoughts and emotions. Right now he was lying on his cot next to raiin's, though she was in her separate weyr in the main Weyr, nt where he was, in the volcano.
Rinath was flying for sport over the lake, when he alerted M'kal to something that interested him.
<<mine? i know i have already caught my silver love Dearyth, but Valureth is Flying now- may i chase? i'm sure you have no oposition to flying raiin?>>

Corenth and S'ven:
S'ven was as always, out-of-tune with his dragon, and he really didnt notice Corenth's eyes turning the violet-indigo of Flying Lust untill the dragon nudged him to look up. The sandrider was studying some old records, which were interesting. He looked up, and leaped off his little stool.
"Oh!" <oh, Corenth? Y-you want to Chase Valureth? Well, go give it your best, sandheart!!!>

Lirith almost rolled his eyes at that stupid question, not believing his rider wouldn’t know.

Lirith took wing and J’kel took, er, foot.
Lirith to Valureth and J’kel to Raiin, wherever that was...

(I know... just wanted to get things started.... and I'm sorry for what I'm about to do to Rinath... I love him an all... but Val's not gonna be happy with him being there...)

Four males... fine... lets see how well you fly...

Valureth only took notice of who the males were after take-off. Interesting... some of you I wouldn't expect...

She flipped onto her back to assess them better.

I'm shocked that you're here Rinath. Do you really think that I would let you claim me AS WELL as my silver sister! You will waste your energy brother, it's a shame, mine will be pleased to see yours.... But I will taunt you not... I will not pretend to count you as part of these males.

Now what do you males have to offer?

She challenged the males. Two of them [that she still counted =( ] were her brothers, but the other? She'd never been around the two of her brothers much, but that mattered little here. She flew higher, and waited for the males to prove themselves.

Dearyth could hear the flight going on from where she was sitting in her Weyr. She watched to see who was flying, it was Valureth. Well, who was chasing? Corenth, Ugrayth, Lirith and and and RINATH!!!!!

Dearyth filled with rage she had never felt before.
RINATH! GET DOWN HERE RIGHT NOW! I CAN'T BELIEVE YOU ARE CHASING MY SAPPHIRE SISTER! COME DOWN RIGHT [glow=red,2,300]NOW[/glow]!!!

Lirith heard Dearyth's outraged scream from below

Ooooh, somebodies in trouble.......

Lirith turned his attention to the flight.

I shall impress you, my sweet.

He spun around her in a 360 times about 10 before plummeting down in a dive. Then pulling up at the last moment and flying back up to Valureth....

Rinath winced from Valureth's comment-- all he wanted to do was make m'kal happy...

Then he heard Dearyth screaching at him, and looked sheepishly towards her.
if dragons could blush- he'd be doing it right then.
The lust of a Chase hadn't set in yet.....

<Rinath, why don't you stop chasing val and go comfort Dearyth? she'll cause a fight with valureth if she comes after you...> M'kal suggested to his dragon.
The dusk crooned to Dearyth, his silver gal was angry at him!
<<Valureth, of sapphire sparkling, i shall not Chase you!>> He called to the sapphire dragon, swooping low over her and dropping down towards earth.
He landed next to Dearyth, the silver's eyes were a fiery bright red, swirling rapidly. He crooned an apollogy, and licked her cheek.

<<I have no interest in the sapphire one, my silver gal! I Chased her for M'kal- he likes her rider. He can like her outside of a Flight>> Rin' decided.
<Of course!> M'kal stuck in, walking away from raiin's door, which he had never gone into during the beginning of the chase. M'kal went past them and grinned, diving into the lake....

Looking around, Raiin assessed the people that walked in. She thought they were all going to be males, until the Sand rider walked in...

Raiin hadn't met the sandrider before, but she'd also been in Dearyth's flight. Raiin didn't mind hat there was a girl there, it didn't make much difference, except that they'd never been introduced. that might be awkward.

J'kel and S'ven were there too, she knew she wouldn't mind either of them. S'ven she'd talked to a little, J'kel a little more, but they were both a lot more shy than she was.

Well....... I have no idea who I want to win........ so no pressure on Val.....

And Val did fly higher, right above the clouds. She knew she was tiring, but so were they. And they would still need to prove themselves. She swerved to the right, dipping low, until she was flying just a-top the clouds.

J'emmay and Ugrayth:

J'emmay rounded her shoulders and walked into raiin's weyr.
<I'm only doing this for you.> She told her dragon.
Ugrayth flipped to his back and flew upside-down for a few moments, then somersaulted back right-side up. He hovered in the air a few moments, and flew through a water-wet clooud.
See me, beautiful Valureth? I shall catch you- i have the agility and flexibility to fly anywhere!

Lirith flew higher following the Sapphire.

He did another twirling thingy before coming back to hover above her again....

Mmk... Flight Didn't go as well as I hoped... Never mind! I is happy.... but there's gonna be Awkward stuff after this.... REAL awkward stuff....

First I must appologise to Inki, you're charrie didn't win.... sorry J'kel!
Second, I must appologise to Mimi too... because it's not Corenth who wins....

Val could feel the labouring in her wings, it was time to choose.

She looked at the males around her, making her final decision. Ugrayth, I choose you... You have proven worthy to twine tails with me...

Raiin knew Val's choice the second Val did, however Raiin was a tad more uncertain than Val was.

She sensed the others leaving the room, and she was left alone with the other female rider, who's name she still did not know.

Raiin took a deep breath and faced the sand-rider, smiling, if maybe a bit more nervous than usual.

"Erm... This is going to be really weird... considering I don't even know you're name... so I think intro's first, deal with the rest later. " She held out her hand, "I'm Raiin."

Yes, get this bit over before you collapse, good girl. I wonder if she actually likes girls? Maybe it won't be AS awkward as I thought.... but I still want to know her name.
