Room 2--Nataniel
Nataniel looked around the room. With three beds, it'd been crowded, especially with J'sha using the bed. But some weyrfolk had taken the bed and extra dresser out yesterday. It had been five days ago that J'sha impressed to the little fraidy-cat greenlette, Roeth, and moved to the weyrling barracks. Natan suggested that J'sha move into cloudvolcano's barracks because the weyrlingmaster, M'kal, lived there.
But shells, it was so empty and quiet without J'sha here! two beds in a room that is meant to hold three... he swore he could hear a bit of an echo when someone spoke loudly.
It was especially quiet and empty because Dare had also impressed- D'reli his dragon called him. He wondered where D'reli was staying. But he felt apathetic, and lay down on his bed.
He wouldn't switch to sharing with Ruthe and Xeroti but he hated being in a room by himself. It was a waste of effort to move when he Might impress at the next hatching.
Or the one after that.
He told himself, gloomily, that he would stay on as a candidate until he impressed or was too old anymore! Even if it meant waiting until griffith or farlith Rose and clutched.
He knew it wouldn't be Judurith's that he impressed at- most likely- because judurith had been chewing firestone lately, and while it did not inhibit clutches in a lilac, it did lower the viable births.
Natan shook his head at his glum thoughts and got out of bed, and began to pace around his room. At least the weyrfolk hadn't taken out the other bed- That would have made it too large for him to bear!
But would anyone come and see him?
