Sapphire Sun Rising

It was early morning crisp and cool. Not surprising since it was winter time at the weyr. Vaith was sleeping on her ledge and that in itself was worrying her rider. Saiyuri had noticed Vaith had been snappy and irritable all sevenday and that meant she'd be rising. It would be Vaith's maiden flight and it scared Sai. Oh she trusted her bonded, that wasn't the issue.

She was nervous about being with a stranger.

With a sigh the young woman forced herself to calm down. There would be no use worrying. It was going to happen and Sai trusted Vaith to pick the best for them both. She quickly braided her hair as she waited. It wouldn't be long now. True to her rider's thoughts, mere moments after Saiyuri had braided her hair and curled up on her bed, the Sapphire's head snapped up.

Mine, I need to...I need to Fly. the dark blue dragoness rumbled getting to her feet. Saiyuri nodded.

"I know love. Go on now, and don't come back with less then the best." Sai ordered with a light grin. Vaith let out a roar of challenge and took off to the feeding pens. Landing gracefully she pounced on a herdbeast and breaking its neck drained it. She drained another before lifting a dripping maw.

Come if you think you can keep up with me. Who dares to join the skies with me? Vaith demanded her voice echoing through the weyr.

Saiyuri meanwhile headed down to the Flight weyrs. She'd made sure Vaith blooded her kill now all she had to do was wait for the males. She knew they would come.

J’kel was relaxing in the cool, crisp air of early morning. He heard the roar, only a tiny bit after Lirith felt it. He groaned to himself, knowing that Lirith would give chase. The brown hadn’t caught anyone, but it was only matter of time. He wasn’t extremely worried, as he wasn’t in anyway tied to a female. Not that he didn’t want to be, but he hadn’t found the right woman yet. Or they hadn’t found him yet. Whatever, J’kel wasn’t in any hurry to rush into a relationship and a flight was always an awkward way of being introduced.

Lirith leapt off his Weyrledge, not even bothering to tell him who he was chasing, and who J’kel would soon be meeting.

“Fine, don’t tell me anything.” He grumbled at his dragon irritably.

Yet he still headed down to the Flight Weyrs, hoping he wouldn’t be the first one there, and hoping that this wasn’t a maiden flight. Lirith had taken part in a few flights before, some maidens at that, and the woman always seemed to be anxious. J’kel understood, he was scared out of his mind when Lirith had first decided to chase a female. But for the people with the female dragons it would be much harder.

No matter how nervous everyone always were, J’kel always tried to be nice. That was just how he was, he was always a bit nervous starting conversations, he was just that sort of person, but a nice conversation kept his mind off the flight as long as possible.

He walked into the Flight Weyr. Instantly realising who it was, it was Saiyuri, a Sapphire rider. And, of course, this was her dragons maiden flight. What was her dragons name? Vaith? Yeah Vaith. He wasn’t sure whether the Sapphire would know who he was. But, meh.

“Hi Saiyuri. I’m J’kel.” He put out a hand. “Don’t worry I don’t bite.” J’kel commented smiling. “I can’t say the same for myLirith though.” He said, still smiling, knowing that if his dragon were paying attention, he probably wouldn’t approve.

My beautiful Vaith. You need not worry, because I am here and I will certainly be what you are looking for. That was Lirith, always the optimist, or just that he was full of himself.

S'ven put his newly cleaned Gather shirt in his closet and paused, confused at something that felt odd.
He looked over his shoulder at Corenth. The Sand was fidgeting where he lay on his Ledge.
He probed a thought at his Dragon.

S'ven was greeted with an intense rush of feeligns that Corenth hadn't understood right away and had hidden from HisS'ven at first.
"Corenth! There's a female Rising and if you don't go Chase, you'll drive me mad!" He said, laughing.
"I don't get why you never tried before now, but I think you have to accept it. Plus, what's to fear fro ma Flight?"
He pointed out to the Sand.

Corenth had never Chased before, because he had matured slowly.
But he hadn't understood before what it meant to want to Chase either. Now, Corenth was ready, and with a smile at His, and a short comment, he leaped off his ledge and pumped his wings to get into the sky.
Mine, I understand now. I will Chase now, I shall Chase the Sapphire Vaith and i will Win![/b] He declared to His.

S'ven walked from his Weyr to Saiyuri's Weyr. Not only was it her Vaith's Maiden Flight, but it was his first time at this experience as well. He was sure they would get along.

"Hello Saiyuri" He said to the young woman. "Do you remember me? My name's S'ven. This is Corenth's first time as well."
He had met her once before, though he was unsure if a large group relaxing under the trees counted as really meeting, because he'd been far away from her and Ivory.

Vaith eyed the two dragons that arrived. One was a sturdy brown and the other was a sand. She knew both of the males but not extremely well. She tilted her head at Lirith, a soft purr rumbling in her chest.

Strong words, fair Lirith. But can you follow through with your claim? she replied slightly more philosophical than normal. She turned her attention to Corenth as he arrived and rumbled a greeting.

A lovely sand has joined us. How delightful. she said but was a bit put off when no one else showed up. Only two? Was she not good enough to have more? Well then she would just have to choose well between these two wouldn't she? She let out a roar as she spread her wings and took off.

Follow if you dare boys. she crooned.

"Hi Saiyuri. I’m J’kel. Don’t worry I don’t bite. I can’t say the same for myLirith though." the voice startled Saiyuri a bit. She'd been focusing on Vaith making sure the Sapphire blooded her kill. She hadn't noticed J'kel come in. She flashed him a smile though and shook his hand.

"I'm sure you don't bite hard." she teased chuckling a bit. It was good to have a bit of humor in the nerve-wracking situation. Well it was nerve-wracking for Sai anyway. She glanced at the door as S'ven came in. She nodded at his question.

"Yes, I remember. The kindergarten club meeting." she replied laughing a bit. She hadn't known it was Corenth's first time chasing but she would worry about that later. The lust was rising and soon she wouldn't care about stuff like that. She could already feel the need to be touching them. Her eyes widened slightly at Vaith's roar and a tremble ran through her, not of fear but of need.

"I hope you're ready." she said softly.

[okay one more week to get your boys up. Show Vaith what they can do. oh and Rayne or Dragon can crash the flight with either NPCs or charries but /only/ them. They have my permission to do so if they choose.]

Lirith sped after the Sapphire, saving his strength but keeping close behind her. Not leaving any lee-way for her to put on a sudden burst of speed and lose him amoungst the clouds. He would be very annoyed if that happened. What the Sapphire would lack in stamina she would make up in speed and agility and even though he was bigger than the Sapphire, he was smaller than the sand. And he would need to out-do the sand to win his place in the Sapphire's heart.

My dear Sapphire, you shine brighter than the sun itself. However, you my dear, is the sun that I could look at all day.

He put on a burst of speed spinning over the top of her and curling back around right in front of her. Then Lirith turned upside down, curling underneath her and back behind her. But this time a little closer to her than before. He was hoping to get a little closer to her with every trick that he did. Hopefully ending up right next to her when she chose him. Again, ever the optimist.

J'kel chuckled softly at Saiyuri's comment. But I wave of lust knocked it off his face. It was startling, and sudden. Not really the sort of welcoming emotion that you would want to feel when you are trying to think of a comment to a reply like that.

He took a step back from Saiyuri, not wanting to unknowingly reach out to her, though by the egg he wanted to. Inwardly he cursed, pushing the flightlust to the back of his mind.

Stay in control...

He took a deep breath, centering himself.

Corenth crooned eagerly and pushed off from the ground in pursuit of Vaith. The beautiful Sapphire was quick and of similar size to himself, but he knew that gave him an advantage over the larger Brown.

He flicked his tail back and forth through the air to give him more control on agility in turns and any changes in direction she might take, and used long, wide strokes of his wings to keep his flight level and even. He was breathing deep and easily so far, and he did not wnat to tire himself out too much.

Glorious Vaith, you are slight and agile such that no other can compare with your beauty!

Vaith eyed Lirith as he fairly danced in the skies. Impressive yes and it showed his agility and skill at flying but that wasn’t what she was looking for. Corenth seemed to be waiting for the right moment and she liked how steady he seemed to be. His rider also seemed fairly level too which would be good for her Saiyuri.

She reveled in their sweet words for a moment before considering the two handsome males before her. The sand and his were the Candidate Masters, the brown and his were simply wingriders like herself. But could he be good for her Saiyuri?

Hmm… my my I have such lovelies to choose between. Makes the choice hard on a girl sometimes. she purred. She gave a laugh and sped up with a stroke of her wings. Her ichor was burning with need and she knew she needed to choose.

But which one? Then suddenly she knew.

Lirith, my heart come claim your prize. the Sapphire crooned as she flicked her wings, angling closer to him.

Saiyuri was frightened by the surge of lust that spiraled through her. A fine trembling started on her arms though she fought to stop it. She could do this! Closing her eyes for a moment she took a breath as she felt soothing comfort coming from her bond with Vaith. She smiled and sent a brief flash of gratitude before glancing at the two men. She didn’t know either of them that well but she did know that they were both good men.

She stepped forward brushing her fingers down J’kel’s arm suddenly in a playful mood. With a girlish giggle she darted away slipping up behind S’ven. She brushed the tips of her fingers against his hair enjoying the softness against her skin. She darted away again to stand equidistant between the two men.

Her eyes widened slightly at a surge of lust. She knew who her dragoness had chosen. She stepped toward J'kel and reached toward him with trembling fingers.

“All mine…” she murmured a soft smile flickering across her face.
