Ferit Litter Giveaway!!!

Josie has a female White ferit, Sunheart, and a male masked, Raco. They are adult ferits now and they mated not so long ago! Josie has 3 ferits, so she has decided to give away the resulting litter!
There are seven ferit kits, aka babies, with varying personalities and appearances!

So, first come first serve!

One per member for now, unless you are a member who has no pets or less than two, and it is better to have one per character.

Now, Ferits are Connected by their new friend, if they approve of the person. They are not very communicative telepathically, but are highly intelligent little animals. They will convey emotions and intentions to their Connected human. There are four main breeds, but white and masked are more likely because the parents are those breeds.

Josie put up a notice in the comonroom and left the dor to her Weyr open, so your character just has to knock on the door!

When your character comes in, they will notice a reed-woven basket form which little noises emenate. It is covered with a reed lid, and there are small paper cards with numbers on them on the low table nearby. Josie will at first have Raco on her lap, and Sunheart is in the basket feeding her kits.

What your chara needs to do is go up to Josie and ask about the ferit kits. Your chara then picks a number from the cards.

If Raco and Sunheart approve, Josie'll give you the card, which has the ferit's info on it. In a few IC weeks, aka a few days OOC, I'll send you the info and Josie has given you the newly-weaned ferit kit!!!

Josie sat on the couch and pet Raco. The masked ferit was so proud he was a daddy, he could hardly sit still! Sunheart was feeding the kits, and Josie smiled at the squeals and squeaks the babies made as they fought for milk.
The basket had been the perfect way to stop the newborns from getting hurt, and keeping them warm when their mommy left ot eat.
Still however cute the kits were, Josie had Raco, Sun, and Zorro, and she didn't need more ferits. Ocean and Berry were getting jealous by the second!
So she put up a notice about the babies in the common room. She hoped someone would see it and come take a look, at least!

As she was still pretty new to the weyr Kestrel was still getting to know people, especially the other candidates. She had met Jared at breakfast one morning and they'd gotten on pretty well from the beginning.

After finishing their chores for the morning they were just settling into the common room for a break when Jared noticed a new note on the board. "It says there are baby ferits being given away!" he gasped with excitement. Kestrel jumped up, "Where??", she demanded.

Soleil, who had been sleeping in Jared's pocket, poked her head out and sent him a quizzical thought. "Hello there sunshine", he smiled, "Have you decided to rejoin the living?". She cheeped up at him and persisted with her questioning. "I think we're going to see about expanding the family, maybe adding a ferit to our group, what do you think?". He scratched her tiny jaw and she hummed, satisfied.

Turning to Kestrel he asked, "What are we waiting for?"

Knocking on a goldrider's door was daunting for both of them. But the lure of a baby ferit was more overpowering. Kestrel nervously shifted from one foot to the other as they entered. Jared held Soleil in his hand, upon her request, and walked a little more confidently forward. "Good afternoon queenrider," he spoke formally, unsure of how else to act. "My name is Jared and this is Kestrel, we're both candidates. We read the notice in the common room and we were wondering if there were any ferits left?", his eyes darted from the adult ferit on Josie's lap, to the woven basket near them.

Kestrel nodded, looking at a little pile of cards and wondering what they were for. She was immediately drawn to the baby blue card for some reason.

Jared was looking at the Melon Orange card, number 5 he saw, smiling.

Josie looked up and smiled, beckoning the candidates over.
"Don't be so nervous! Come on over. This is Raco, the daddy."
She said, amusement in her voice. She remembered when she'd been nervous of raelyn, and she had been a candidate, too, only 3 turns before!

Josie saw Jared looking at the Melon Orange card, number 5, and grinned. Raco yawned and jumped off her lap, running smoothly over to Jared.
He ran a circle around the young man and then made a soft noise. His eyes shown brightly, and he put his little paws on Jared's leg before running back over to Josie.

Josie nodded. "Raco says that Jared here is well suited for baby 5. So, take the Melon card! As soon as the baby's ready to leave their ma, I'll have Farlith call you to come get him."

Then Sunheart came out of the basket, shook herself, and ambled over to Kestrel, looking up at the young woman. The girl seemed a good match for one of her precious kits. She was a Dragoncandidate, but that was surely some time off and the girl would care for her eldest kit.

Josie got up and walked over to the basket, peeking inside.
"Sunheart says Kestrel, you can take the Baby Blue card, for the eldest baby. Do both of you want to take a peek at the kits? They're asleep!"
She asked, holding the two cards out to the candidates.

squeaks of protest came from the number 3 baby as their siblings climbed over it to find a better sleeping spot.

"Thank you, lady", Jared said as he moved further into the room, gesturing at Kestrel to follow. She looked much more uneasy than he was.

But Jared did stiffen a little when Raco bounded towards him. He'd never seen ferits up close before, so this was all completely new to him. Glancing over at Kestrel he got the impression it was the same for her too, so at least he wasn't alone. The pressure of Raco's little paws made him smile and relax though. He was glad the father approved of him.

When Sunheart materialized from the depths of the basket and ambled of to Kestrel Jared was surprised to see her kneel down and greet the ferit.

Kestrel, though very apprehensive about this unique species, was usually very good with animals. She had been reared around runners, so she knew how to "talk" to them. Understanding that ferits would be quite different she still hoped to make some sort of a good impression.

When Josie moved towards the basket inviting them to see Kestrel jumped at the chance. She moved swiftly over to it and appeared to be much more confident now that she'd gotten her bearings. Animals, Jared thought,she really is more comfortable around them. He stepped closer to the basket to look at the litter after accepting his card and thanking the goldrider.

Kestrel was peering in at the little number 3 being squished by it's siblings. She wanted to curl her hand around it safely, but knew better than to try. It's muffled squeaks brought a smile to her face and she turned to Josie declaring, "They're absolutely gorgeous!"

Josie smiled and nodded, handing over the next two cards. "How are you Ivory?" She asked politely.

She looked down and saw that there were still two cards left. Maybe she would give one to G'ri?
