Mystic Ista is a game created to explore one concept: what if Pern had Magic?
We're an alt 9th pass game where Lessa and the major movers and shakers of the books never were. It's the 450th turn of the 8th interval, and everyone believes that thread is gone for good-- even some of the dragon riders. All of the weyrs are at 1/4th strength, and diminishing quickly. To make matters worse, the dragon clutches are getting larger, which only means more strain on supplies. How will Pern survive?
Of course, we added a magic system. You can join with one magical character for every X non-magical characters, because magic is fairly rare in this world. The number of nonmagical characters required varies on the strength of the magical character you submit.
We also have a goal-based ascension program. That's where you set your character a major goal-- such as attain a rank, or graduate weyrlinghood- and then set some minor goals alongside it- such as "meet five people" and "make a friend." When you complete the IC goal, you complete the major goal. No staff needed, except to update the list and unless you make a mistake. When you've achieved the goal, it's yours. That also means you can do things at your own RP pace.
Finally, all of our staff, including the leader, have detailed job descriptions, so they-- and you-- know exactly what they need to do.

- Some new mutation colors, to fill out the draconic spectrum.
- Member-made clutches.
- Smaller clutches, but more frequent clutches-- how frequent depends on the members' preferences.
- Easy-going staff.
- Fairly open character creation.
Current Events
We've finished our first hatching, and Ista is still doing well, thanks to the fact that one of it's two protected holds still tithes. Although they lost their last queen, she was replaced with three more. When Benden Weyr fell, a fourth queenrider joined Ista's ranks.
The senior gold will be clutching shortly, and another clutch is already in the making.
