Josie stood silently on the ledge, looking out over Sky Lake contemplatively. She knew Farlith would Rise soon - the Gold's hide had been luminous and faintly glowing for the past few days. The young Goldrider wished it wasn't at such an inopportune moment. The man she loved, and whose dragon got on so well with Farlith, were both far away and would be for some time.
She missed them dearly, but whatever they were doing in the North was important. Next time, surely, they would be home, right?
Either way, Josie knew it was going to happen soon. Griffith had Risen the day before, and that was likely ot make Farlith more eager to Rise. (and yes, Josie and Farlith had gone between to a location far enough from the weyr that Farlith wouldn't rise at the same time, thankfully) The shy Goldrider, however, didn't expect that day to be today.
Farlith, who had been down in the feeding pens already, not yet choosing prey, stalking around it in a predatory manner, sudenly leapt on a buck. And it was at that moment that the telltale passion and matinglust hit Josie. She had just enough thought in her head to move away fro mthe edge and further into her Weyr before the waves of lust filled her.
And she could feel the return emotions from the males that would soon show up.
Farlith trumpeted, the loud brassy note turning into a roar at the end.
Blood only, Farlith! Blood only! Josie managed to say the words loudly and with force behind them. A change of pace for the normally quiet young woman. She had it in her, of course, and she needed it to deal with regal and proud Farlith.
The gold's emotions washed over and through Josie and she returned them, eyes glazed. She was already in two places at once, though she wasn't quite with Farlith in that way yet.
Farlith bucked and fought but then relented, gracefully dipping her head and blooding her first kill. She moved on to a second with little hesitation, and did not need more encouragement fomr her rider to blood that one as well.
Males of Moonlit! Gold Farlith calls you to Chase! My challenge will not be easy! Prove yourselves!
