Honey's clutch

Golden Honey hissed and covered her clutch of eggs with her wings. She had just clutched them, and was very much broody.

S'ven got a bit of a look at the eggs, counting 10, including one that might be a gold or lilac egg.

He posted a sign in the common room,saying that anyone who wanted to bond a firelizard could come reserve one-two at the flitt sands later that day...




EGGS:

Deinonychus- this egg is mostly a mottled mix of tan and sienna brown, with some white speckles like fluffy feathers near the top curve of the shell. There is a strange blue spot in a vaguely eye-like shape.

Gigantosaurus- the largest egg, it is also a much darker color, and it's surface is covered in bumps. It might be a queen egg...

Spinosaur - second largest egg, it has a slight sheen to it, and has vaguely triangle-shaped markings in a slightly lighter shade of brown all over.


Ceratopsian - This smaller, paler egg's surface seems to flicker with different colors, and there are several small raised bumps on the front and top of the shell. It has minimal markings.

Archosaur - a midling sized egg, it is smooth and un textured, but has lines all over it's sienna-and-charcoal surface that look a bit like fur...

Pterasaur - a smaller egg, it is mostly an even-toned shade of medium brown all over, except for a splash of burnt orange color on one side.

Hadrosaur- medium sized egg, it is rather oblong, and its shell is mottled ruddy browns and olive greens.

Dracorex - middling egg, its surfae is covered in spikes. It is mottled sienna-and-olive colored, with dashes of other browns mixed in.

Kol - small, charcoal-colored, with feathlike markings along each side of the shell, and pale yellow speckles atop it.

Orodromeus - middling sized, perfectly smooth, and patterned in gray and pale tan with paler grey stripes.

Faizah noticed the posting in the common room, about flit eggs. She smiled to herself. She loved Missy and Flower, even if her white dragon Passianth didn't. She wondered if she should ask for another flit. She certainly did enjoy them...

She smiled to herself and reached out to Passianth. I'm going to ask for another flit. She told him, glee seeping over the bond.

She could sense Passianth groan. [i/]Must you?[/i] He asked.

Faizah almost laughed aloud. She was trying to get the young white to like the flits. Especially since she liked them so much herself. Not to mention, Faizah had been feeling a little lost the past few weeks. Perhaps babying a new flit would help her out.

Indeed I must. She told him, sending him the reason without words.

She turned and headed for the sands. Once she got there she looked around, wondering if she was the only one there.

((I don't know how long it will take you to reply. So I'm just going to say I would like to reserve the Dracorex egg for Faizah and the Kol egg for Nathien.))

J'kel heard about the reserving of the eggs and decided it might be a good idea to add another firelizard to his little family. Balu could use another friend.

Lirith wasn't incredibly agreeable.
I got used to the other one but we might not be as lucky when it comes to another loud flittering beast in your tiny Weyr.

"Oh come on buddy. You love Balu."

Lirith just grunted and J'kel rolled his eyes at his stubborn dragon. But soon those large swirling eyes turned to his.

Mine. If you want another firelizard. Go ahead. Whatever makes you happy.

"Good because I want one."

Lirith sighed and grumbled about having to widen the little crevice in the wall of his Weyr that he had made when Balu had moved himself in.

J'kel smiled and took himself off to get an egg.

Astrid sat with her legs dangling in the water of the lake. She hadn't made many new friends at Moonlit. She had left her old Weyr after her Weyrmate and his dragon had gone between after they had between severely threadscored in a freak accident.

Her partner had passed away on the back of his dragon, and together they had gone between. Admist her grief, the Weyrleaders though it might be best to transfer her. And the new environment didn't remind her of her partner all the time. It was less painful here.

Astrid had thought she might be able to forget, if she made some new friends. And had new experiences. But so far, it hadn't been easy. She was still tall, gawky and awkward. Too loud to be enjoyable company on land, and no one really in this Weyr understood her love for the water.

A splash drew her attention to Valy, who was playing in the water just by her ankles, splashing and diving in the cool water.

Mine. Perhaps if you can't find human friends. You might want another, non-human...

Astrid looked up from the rippling water into the swirling eyes of Blaewenth. Her blue was stretched out behind her, sunbaking and acting as a backrest for Astrid.

"What do you mean by that?"

There is a flit clutch. You should get an egg.

"You wouldn't mind?"

Of course not. You are still mine. And I am still yours. But I think one of those little flittery things might be just what you need.

"You know me so well." She buried her face in Blaewenth's neck.

Of course I do. Now go reserve an egg before they're all gone.

((I don't mind. Maybe Rae an egg you choose can just hatch into her hand?))

[Dragon]

She'd seen the note in the Common room and headed straight for S'ven's weyr as per the note. She paused outside before entering. "Hello, I'm here for an egg or two?" She said once she was there. She stopped and waited until it was her turn to pick an egg.

She liked the two larger eggs, but one never knew what egg carried what color firelizard in which size egg. "I would like that egg," she said, pointing to the Gigantosaurus egg. "And that egg, if its not taken, please," she said again, pointing to the Orodromeus egg.

(ooc: And it begins! ^_^' **I've decided that there's no logic in Honey having *just* laid the clutch. Let's assume they're on the verge of hatching? Also, I've claimed the Ceratopsian egg for my Nate- let's assume he's here now... ^^')

S'ven had been lying on the sand, watching Honey mothering her clutch, when Faizah entered, followed soon by several others. He got to his feet, greeting them with a smile.

"Once you choose, you can pick the egg up - Honey might hiss at you, but that is all." He assured them, chuckling.

"Is it too late?!" A breathless voice came from the entrance, as Nate crawled into the flitt sands and got to his feet, looking at S'ven nervously. The Sandrider shook his head.

"No, you can still choose one." Nate grinned and carefully looked at the eggs.

"Uhm, the Ceratopsian, please?"

S'ven nodded.

The first egg to hatch was the unclaimed Spinosaur Egg, which fractured down the center and then split neatly in two, revealing a kreeling Bronze Flitt. He looked around at the gathered people, and hissed his displeasure, as his mother headbutted him lightly and coaxed him to take another look.

appearance: dark brownish-bronze, with a slight shimmer. large and muscular for a firelizard, with a tendency towards standing on his back legs adn fanning his wings to stay upright. the ridges on his back are more pronounced, and he has triangle-shaped speckles all over in a slightly paler and shinier shade.
personality: sharp-tempered, greedy, grouchy, dedicated

(ooc: All unclaimed firelizards who do not Impress will be for 'adoption' in the fliit shop- adopts Ooc, but IC the story is the person hwo bonds it was at the hatching.)

The Gigantosaurus and Kol eggs were shaking, and it was unclear which would hatch first.
After a few moments, the Kol egg shivered slightly and then the front of the shell fell away, revealing the baby firelizard within, who looked immediately at the reserver of its egg.

Nathien was here because Faizah, his cousin, had insisted he come with her and get another flit. Not that he really needed one. He already had one flit, and a new hatchling to deal with. Not that Liyoth was a pest or problematic. Just that Nathien had to get used to taking care of a dragonet.

But he did do as S'ver told him. He took the egg that Faizah had requested for him, a small egg, and moved off on his own with it. He had just set it down when a small spiral flit hatched from it. He blinked, not believing how quickly it had hatched.

He smiled down at the little creature. She had an array of markings, which surprised him to an extent. He had never seen a spiral flit with so much color. But he already knew what he was going to call her. "Speckles." He murmured to the flit.

Faizah nodded and smiled, stepping forward and taking the egg she had chosen. She noticed that there were few people there. So, in a spurt of courage, she turned her attention to S'ver.

"Could I possibly get the Hadrosaur egg as well?" She asked.

Nate eagerly moved forwards to pick up his own egg, bringing it a short distance away and crouching in the sand, watching it advidly. His attention shifted when Nathien's egg hatched, and Nate smiled, then went back to watching his own egg, which wasn't really rockign at all.

S'ven raised his eyebrows, but nodded.
"Yes." The Hadrosaur egg was only shaking a tiny bit, but while it was chosen by Faizah, the Archosaur, Pterasaur, and Deinonychus eggs began to shake even harder. It was mostly a question of which one first. "I certaintly don't mind another flitt bonding rather than going wild." S'ven said with a grin.

The Archosaur shuddered, and then flipped onto its side and rolled away from J'kel. After a moment, it rolled back, bumping lightly against his feet. It held still for a moment, during which the Pterasaur egg was loosing chips of egg shell from its topmost layer, and then the Archosaur Egg crumbled, revealing a pretty little Spiral flitt.

The Pterasaur egg showed signs of being near to hatching.

J'kel quickly cuddled the little Spiral to his chest and stuffing food into her mouth. He moved away from the centre of the room to find a little corner to himself.

He had to stroke the little girls hide to check that she wasn't actually furry, it was an incredible pattern, very realistic.

"Well hello baby. What should I call you? How about Cherie?" The little firelizard hissed. "Okay... Maybe not. What about Katali?"

The little Spiral didn't hiss this time and didn't seem overtly offended by his suggestion.

"Katali it is then."

Faizah smiled. "Thank you." She said, moving to take the other egg as well. After that she moved off to a part of the sands where she could be by herself.
